We are pretty much aware about what is dieting and how it is done. Diet is done when one is inclined towards obese side or gaining weight which then creates lot of issues further in life and can drastically affect the health. Dieting is done to shed those extra calories and to stay fit and healthy so that our body stays away from various diseases and disorders.

We have heard about keto diet, regular diet and many other types of diet which is applied by the people so that they can reduce on their food intake or cut down on calories to avoid being unhealthy and to stay fit and healthy. Probably you may haven’t about 5:2 diet because this type of diet is usually adapted by few people.

Now, what is 5:2 diet? 5:2 diet is also known as intermittent fasting diet which includes an eating pattern of regular fasting. Now, this can be of a concern to certain people who are not inclined very much towards fasting.

But then, as per the studies it has been found that this diet has various health benefits. It’s not like that you need to fast on regular basis but then you can eat for the other regular five days whatever you want and keep fast for just two days in the week. The two days and the five days can be divided as per your schedule.

Usually the people who are on this diet, select Mondays and Thursdays as their fasting days and other regular days as their normal eating regular routine days. The various health benefits that are observed by doing this diet are–

  • Reduced levels of CRP.
  • Decreased levels of leptin.
  • Reduced fat mass.
  • Increased LDL particle size.
  • Reduced body weight.

By this, one can certainly go for this diet. It can be difficult at the start but for sure it is good for your health and body both.
