Anxiety has always been a topic of concern to most of the people. Why? Because it is believed that anxiety certainly affects the mental and physical health and causes lot of health issues which can have a negative impact on the body as well. The people who have anxiety goes through a very difficult phase but at that time, these people are the ones who have a different perspective to see things negatively when they are going through anxiety. Anxiety problems are real but then recent studies have been stated that little bit of anxiety can be good for your memory.
Pretty much shocked? This may be a surprising thing to many people but then in some studies, it has been analysed that actually anxiety helps to boost your memory. Now, how is that even possible when we know that the people suffering from anxiety have a hard time to deal with people and the surroundings? It is possible because it is observed that people with higher anxiety levels are more susceptible to negative feelings, outing them in a more negative state of mind which in return lets them remember certain events in a more memorable way.
Coffee and tea are for sure not a thing to boost your memory or let you remember of many experiences which are memorable but the people with higher anxiety levels might remember certain events better than the people with lower anxiety levels.
For example, if a person is having a bad day and goes to Pizza hut and orders pizza, where the server asks about the thin crust or thick crust, then that person would interpret as something negative because of the bad frame of mind but then if we closely observe then we may find, that the person would remember this certain instance because something bad happened to him on that particular day.
Therefore anxiety is linked to memory in this way where you will be able to find many much more instances. To make it more visible, the medical experts also conducted a survey where they showed a negative scenario to the people with higher levels of anxiety problems and also to the people with lower levels of anxiety.
Once the survey or the research was finished, the researchers came to a conclusion that those with higher levels of anxiety were able to remember the negative scenario that was shown to them as compared to the ones with low levels of anxiety.
The researchers found that the some of the words presented to the people is a negative mind-set were better remembered by the people suffering from anxiety than those who were not suffering from the anxiety. It is still not that clear that how anxiety may enhance the memory but for the highly anxious people, the memories and the information learned in a negative perspective became more emotionally tainted which enabled them to remember the things as suggested by the studies taken by the researchers.
